That said I'll explain, I've seen bichons from a breeder that were huge and pink nosed with lots of apricot, all "bad" things in bichon land supposedly while there are bichons @ shelters and rescues that are small, black nosed, and mostly white who aren't adopted for long periods of time. Off soapbox now, husband still won't let me have another bichon or I would have one in a heartbeat. Both my dog and my cat are rescues and so is one of my mom's dogs. I try to remind people as often as I can that there are great animals out there but it's hard to get through to some people. I heard a statistic that something like 60% or more of dogs in shelters are actually purebred. My brother has gotten three dogs from breeders and just won't listen to me that you can find specific breeds at the shelters. He has gotten two boxers and a Maltese from breeders. I love Petfinder.
