So Far Behind and THEN!

I was trying to get all my comments answered etc.  (I feel guilty if I don’t even if no one ever reads them again?)  And then go visit other blogs, had phone calls to make, then husband wants me to go get parts for the truck (we are getting some where I promise) then he calls and says we are going home and then he calls and says it’s just for two weeks.  So I am packing, doing laundry, and fixing dinner.

This was the dog this morning in the bed.  OOohhhh I still don’t feel the best…….

And on the couch.

I got out of bed!

I got out of bed!

And finally in his bed by my feet.  He just now jumped up in the chair to sleep must be getting better!!!  He’s been gradually improving all day, he did walk about 300 yards with me.    This last picture is Dixie and Dis yesterday before he went to the vet, she is our friends dog, I think she is some sort of retriever, shepherd, greyhound? She and Dispatch get along great, she worships him and belly crawls while in his presence and he doesn’t growl @ her.  She is a real rescue, he found her starving beside the road.  She’s been house trained though or she is really really smart, she hasn’t pottied in his house yet!

So now I need to peel veggies and pack the car.  I’ll be back on asap, maybe tomorrow if it rains too much!

I forgot I found some good rescue stories while I was looking for anal gland inflammation, some with totally happy endings some not but here they are.

Update:  Dispatch is talking to his “daddy” (because Daddy was outside ignoring Dis) and was walking around my chair panting and begging to be picked up.  I think he’s doing MUCH better!

Glad to hear that Dispatch is on the mend. The rescue reminds me so much of one we found and raised for 14 years. They look identical. He was one of the best dogs I ever had. I think dogs are aware and appreciative of the person who rescues them.
I also understand your time management problem. I had to give up replying to the comments on my blog posts. I use to but found I was online way too much going back and forth.

Ahhh, it’s so nice to hear and see Dispatch is doing well.
Aww and look at you…go now with Mama and behave.

  • Aw, Dispatch is looking a little tired still. Glad to hear he’s improving. I can relate to the time management, I never have enough hours in the days. I started out answering comments on my blog but it got to be way too much to handle. I try to visit everyone who comments now. On the other hand, if I know someone is answering comments on a blog, like yours, I sometimes come back to read the replies. Still not enough hours.

I guess I’ll have to quit answering the comments. Nina of Ornamental sends emails to @ least some of her commentors and she has like 40 a day @ least.

Dixie does look like a good dog, her mouth is sort of black, (supposed to be the sign of a good dog, of course Dispatches is black), Tim’s wife looked her up on the internet and she thinks she’s red bone, I think she’s got a little shepherd etc. in her too but I could easily be wrong. She’s going to Wisconsin tomorrow anyway.
Dispatch has been gnawing on a bone so he does feel better. He got a little meat for supper but mostly dog food.

I’m wondering how Dis will do in the car too AL, traveling is usually so stressful for him anyway. I considered holding him on my lap just to keep him calm. Then he would expect it and I’ve discovered I CAN read in a moving vehicle now so he would get in the way of that. Thanks for your thoughts, we are relieved, I was so happy when he started barking @ strange noises again!

I wondered how everyone else handled the comment thing? I do try to visit those who comment and then I try to visit who comes up with a new post if I get behind and I end up missing people but I will get caught up some day. If I find a line of comments particularly interesting I’ll go back or if I asked a question and I remember I asked a question. Anyway THANKS to you Judy and all who had good thoughts and prayers for Dispatch. He is better tonight. He still isn’t “screaming” when I go out the door like he did on occasion before but I’m sure that will come back too and I will be so thankful to hear that horribly annoying embarrassing noise.

  • I did look back and answer comments if it’s something that warrants a reply. Usually, on my blog, I’m happy to keep it light – post, comment – not really big discussions or anything. Easy for everyone. Including me!

  • Awww! Poor Dispatch, it’s not fun being sick! I am glad he’s doing some better too.

Dixie is cute, but seems a little small for a shepherd to me.

Dispatch, I am so glad you are getting better. I have been worried about you. (((Dispatch))). I hope your sore butt is feeling its old self again and you don’t have to go through any more torture with that problem. Happy Halloween.

We are so happy that Dispatch’s little hinney is getting better. We worry so much.
My mommy has a hard time keeping ahead on all the comments too,
Sometimes it seems she gets lost and she goes to work and is gone a long time

We have been lost in space and just now read the story about Mugsey. We are very sad that your heart broke- and that happening to Mugsey.
Mommys crying now. She will be better tomorrow and we hope you are getting better too.

More about the trip later, we are in MO now, Dispatch was a holy terror and I’ve been super tired since we got here but all is well.
Thanks everyone for visiting. Tweedles the Mugsey story is a bad one. We looked @ chocolate lab puppies this weekend but no dice.

  • I think he looks like he’s smiling in that third picture. Glad to hear his hind parts are feeling better =)
