And here is a different picture colored enhanced and Miss Clairoled. No seriously this isn’t the only report of a panther or just a big cat within 20 miles of here lately, the bad thing was the other one was 10 miles as the crow flies from here and that one killed a dog. The dogs remains were in a tree and supposedly cats don’t do that bears do though.

All I know is in 1976 my cousin was building a house across the highway from here. I looked out the kitchen window and thought I saw the weirdest looking huge dog I’d ever seen over there standing in the gravel road. Being PG @ the time I waddled over there and looked @ the paw prints later. They didn’t look like a dogs prints but by the time I’d told anyone the prints had been ran over more than once by pickup trucks. Also a friend of ours hit a panther with his pickup several years ago 20 miles west of here. At first conservation agents thought it was someones pet that had escaped but when they autopsied it the contents of it’s stomach showed it had been living off the land for some time.

So what do you think? I swear the deer are looking weird, getting interbred with mule deer. There have been elk sightings, supposedly the black bears aren’t here yet but I saw a baby bear 20+ years ago down @ Truman Lake. Is wildlife returning to what was once it’s natural habitat?

For anyone who reads this locally the dog killed in Sedalia was a larger dog so it would be a good idea to watch all dogs while outside or in the woods not to mention cats. This is the week all of the orange people (deer hunters) are in the woods, there should be some more sightings if the cats are getting thicker.
